KappAbel - Konkurransen

2004/05

Nordic final

The second Nordic KappAbel final with participants from all the 5 Nordic countries was arranged in Reykjavik, Iceland, April 25th and 26th 2005.

The participants were the teams of the winning classes in the national competitions in Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland and Sweden during the school year 2004/05.

The final consisted of two elements.

Project:

On Monday April 25th the teams presented their classes’ works on the theme “Mathematics and the body”.

The jury had a demanding task in deciding which team should get the prize for the best project, as all the 5 projects were of a very high quality. After long considerations a unanimous jury that the prize of of NOK 10.000 was to shared between

The problems solving session:

On Tuesday April 26th the great final with 5 problems to be solved in the best possible way took place. After the first problem the teams from Finland, Norway and Sweden were in the lead, but after the second problem the Icelandic team took over the lead – and kept it till the final was finished.
