The competition is arranged by "Stiftelsen
KappAbel" (the KappAbel foundation), that has
been established by the Municipality
of Froland and the Norwegian
Academy of Science and Letters, Oslo
The KappAbel competition is arranged in a close cooperation
with the Municipality
of Froland and The
Agder University College (HiA),
Kristiansand/Grimstad, Norway.
The 2 introductory rounds of the competition
are being held via the Internet. Those who succeed
onto the semifinals, will
deliver a project that will make 1/3 of the ruling in
the semifinals. Three of the best teams will
succeed on to the final, which will take place the
day after the semifinal.
In Norway the semifinal and the final will take
place in Froland
and Arendal
in April.
The competition is named after Niels Henrik Abel, who
died at Frolands
Verk the 6th of April 1929, barely 27 years old.
